"If you
can't change it, let God rearrange it." Marvin C. Stoxstell says
that's his life motto and with good reason. Although he was taught
the ways of the Lord while he was growing up, M.C. didn't walk in them
and so failed at nearly everything he did-in high school, in marriage,
as a Christian, as a man. In 1988, at the age of nineteen, M.C. accepted
Christ as his Lord and Savior, but soon slid back into the world, drinking,
dealing drugs, and promoting and participating in strip shows. Then
in 1995, after a friend died in his arms on the floor of a nightclub,
he rededicated his life to Christ and accepted His call to the ministry-only
to find himself rejected in the church. Throughout his ministry, unable
to change his past or the church, M.C. has stood "alone in the
light."
In Alone in the Light: Revelations for Rejected Saints, M.C. shares
what God's Word has revealed to him about the role of rejection in believers'
lives. "Rejection can make or break you," M.C. says. "If
you deal with it positively, it brings humility, and humility brings
mercy and the favor of the Lord. But if you react to it the wrong way,
Satan will enslave you to his authority." Responding to rejection
positively enabled M.C. to overcome it and inspired him to pass on what
he has learned. Because he has been there himself, M.C. is equipped
to encourage others who have moved through their place of purpose to
their place of destiny only to find themselves rejected by their fellow
saints and in bondage to false teachings in the church.
M.C. sheds light on the conditions in churches today that discourage,
distract, and defeat believers. Anyone caught up in vain traditions
and man-made theories will benefit from M.C.'s unique way of correcting
misconceptions, confronting false teachings, and challenging believers
in Christ Jesus to "stand for something and fall for nothing."
Written with an engaging combination of playful humor and plain truth,
his book resurrects the faith that was once delivered unto the church-the
only faith that can transform the lives of saints and make the church
what God intended it to be. Until that happens, MC says, "Alone
in the light is the best place to be."
